    City Projects in Central CRA

The City of Lauderhill, using funds from the Great Neighborhoods Bond, has undertaken several projects in Central. A new City Hall is being designed for the site of the old Publix on Oakland Park Boulevard. It will open in 2009.
Renaissance Park along NW 55th Avenue has changed the landscape of Central and added significant park and green space. It will be expanded north and south during 2008. The Windermere Recreation Center opened in 2007 and now hosts children and adults for various recreation and meeting activities, building on the plan goal to improve the sense of community.
NW 56 Avenue reconstruction has been ongoing for some time but will be completed by summer, 2008. The new roadway, landscaping, and lighting will transform the look of Central Lauderhill and add both to the green space and sense of community.
