Art Form:  Painting

Vaughn Tucker

Artist Statement:

“The Hills are Alive”

The play on color and styles that I experiment with, allows my expression of freedom and joy.  My art is not dead, but alive with peace and love.  I focus on relationships and the community that exist in a natural alcove.

Liliana Gerardi

Artist Statement:

My work is abstract with a strong presence of symbols and spiritual references. My image is graphical and two-dimensional. Applying my technical background in Xylography (an ancient wood engraving technique) and taking advantage of the mix media, I try to found a perfect balance between inner expression, shape, color and space.

Art Forms: Painting and Jewelry Design

Corinne Wakeland

Artist Statement:

  • My goal at this phase of my life is to create works of art that positively impacts, and enhances my life as well as the lives of others.
  • As I evolve, my art also changes as I experiment with more sculptural forms, techniques, and materials. My work, however, continues to document my life’s journey, expressing feelings and views on womanhood, inner beauty, nature, and love.
  • I get inspiration from my everyday life and am further influenced by many native cultures, the beauty and wonder of the things I see around me, and other art forms. Many artists, such as Picasso, Pollock, Van Gogh, Matisse, and many contemporary abstract artists also inspire me. Color and texture always play a vital role in my paintings. For me Art is Life and Life is Art.

Art Form:  Painting

Karl "Jerry" Craig

Artist Statement:

An abstract expressionist, Mr. Craig uses the jeweled colors of the Caribbean's flora and the undulating shapes of the landscape as inspiration for many of his paintings. His work is a rich tapestry in abstract symbolism, frequently retracing the roots of the peoples of the Caribbean, Africa and the Americas documenting long forgotten ways of life. Using signs and symbols, luxuriously textured surfaces, paint gauged and scratched, his work eventually gives birth to new internal languages of the heart, mind and soul.
